Senior Checklist

Important Checklist for Seniors

FFAA:

__ Any senior planning to attend college (2 or 4 years) or a career technical school in Florida needs to file a Florida Financial Aid Application (FFAA) in order to be considered for financial aid and/or scholarships (including the Bright Futures Scholarships).
     ____ Go to www.floridastudentfinancialaid.org
____Click on "Grants, Scholarships, & Application"
____ Go to the "Apply Here" tab and then click on "Student Application"
____Read the six categories and then click on "Proceed to Application"
____Submit the form (this is a slow site -- be patient!)
____You will get a confirmation that the form has been submitted. If you do not get this confirmation, your form did not submit.

FAFSA:

__ You may also be eligible for financial assistance by filing a FAFSA. You can obtain information on filing a FAFSA online by going to www. fafsa.ed.gov. Read the information there and bookmark the page so you may return to it in January. A FAFSA should be filed as soon as possible after January 1. Colleges and career-technical schools have different deadlines for the FAFSA to be filed and you should check to see what those deadlines are if you know where you are planning to go to school (community college, 4 year college, career technical schools).
